The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive analysis approach. Primary data was obtained through direct interviews with Cendana Village cocoa seed traders, secondary data was collected through various sources, including library literature related to business, ethics and Islamic principles, as well as print and electronic media which contained articles related to the cocoa business and the principles of honesty in Islam. Cendana Village cocoa seed traders run their business with integrity, transparency and commitment to customer interests and long-term business sustainability. Thus, these traders become a good example for other business practitioners in applying the principle of honesty in their activities. This is to help the society punish its non-law abiding citizens. In the early societies the believed in revenge, torture, the removal of offenders from the midst of ‘good people’ and even execution were common. As civilization occurs, the idea of punishment, torture and even execution have been substituted with reform and transformation. This change was important by the rights of prisoners instituted by the United Nations. Base on the above information, the conditions of many prisons in Ghana as well as the prisoners are nothing to write home about. Prisoners’ rights and freedoms are always infringed upon of which Muslim Women Prisoners are most often the victims. This article sought to find out the attitudes of Muslims towards Muslim Women in the Prisons. It was among the main objectives of the work to find out, the attitudes of Muslims towards Muslim women in the Prisons, whether the Muslim women were accorded the right respect in society, especially after serving their prison terms, right to practice their religion, whether there was any religious education available to the Muslim women in the prisons, and find the general conditions in the Prisons. The work used qualitative methods. Questionnaires were administered to the Muslim women prisoners, Muslims, Islamic Scholars and Prison officers, in order to gather the data. The data was afterward analyzed. After the research, it was realized that Muslim women in the prisons had the chance to practice their religious duties. They also had religious education as well as visiting scholars. The conditions of the prisons were very bad and the inmates had insufficient food, water and medical care.
2024-05-04T06:39:43+00:00 Abdullah Noor Ebad a_noury876@yahoo.com
2024-08-19T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Abdullah Noor Ebad https://al-arfa.my.id/index.php/i/article/view/46 Islamic Movements Face an Emerging Threat and Tunisian Political Environment: Presidential Coup, Democracy, and Aristocracy 2024-03-12T03:05:03+00:00 Muhammad Asad Latif rockybaba091@gmail.com
In 2011, the popular revolt brought about change in the Tunisian presidential palace as it transitioned from authoritarianism to a condition of liminality. However, following the Tunisian President's proclamation, only the democratic success story of the Arab Spring is under jeopardy after ten years of democratic transition. This article seeks to show how the President has increased his authority by invoking Article 80 of the Constitution. It also explains how this action violates the constitution and has a detrimental effect on the political environment. As a result, Tunisia's Islamic movement has dominated the political landscape of the nation since the 2011 uprising and is seen as the leader of the Islamic identity and democratic movement. Finally, it comes to a conclusion that a coup from the Tunisian president occurred amid Rashid Al-Ghannouchi, the Movement's founder and speaker of the Parliament, showing leniency toward Islamic doctrine. Although it appears that the situation is still precarious, Al-Nahda leadership is once again playing a crucial role in fostering a stable political environment through discussion. The main and secondary data in this article have been evaluated using the Discourse Analysis method and its Critical Discourse Analysis method.
2024-10-02T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Muhammad Asad Latif https://al-arfa.my.id/index.php/i/article/view/48 The Influence of Sharia Banking Advertising and Promotion on SMKN 8 Garut Teachers' Interest in Choosing Sharia Banks 2024-05-23T23:34:26+00:00 Redmon Windu Gumati redmon.windu@gmail.com Dadang Saripudin steiyapishagarut@yahoo.com
This research aims to find out whether advertising and sales promotion variables influence the interest in saving SMKN 8 Garut teachers at Sharia Banks. This study examines the implications of such penalties on the principles of justice, customers, funders, and Islamic financial institutions. Literature study and fatwa review are the basis of the discussion. The results show that fines that are not agreed upon at the beginning of the contract have the potential to cause legal and sharia uncertainty, and open up opportunities for abuse of authority. The negative impact is a decrease in customer trust and tarnishing the reputation of Islamic financial institutions. The proposed solutions are the inclusion of a clear amount of fines in the contract, the involvement of the Sharia Supervisory Board, customer education, and the establishment of industry standards. The application of fair fines can be in the form of tiered fines, adjusted to the customer's ability, and accompanied by alternative fine options. Transparency and accountability of Islamic financial institutions are key to the sustainability of a fair and sharia-compliant Islamic pawnshop system.
2024-10-05T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 agun pradika https://al-arfa.my.id/index.php/i/article/view/62 Juristic Differences on Salat Within the Maliki School and Its Relevance to Nigerian Muslims 2024-08-18T06:19:45+00:00 AbdulWahhab Danladi Shittu shittudanladi@gmail.com AbdulWaheed Olarewaju Yakub Olarewajuabdulwaheed2017@gmail.com
Salat, or Islamic prayers, is central to Muslim devotion globally. However, different schools of Islamic jurisprudence interpret and apply Salat uniquely. The Maliki school stands out for its distinct approach, influencing how Salat is performed. In Nigeria, where Maliki jurisprudence predominates among Muslims, these differences are especially relevant. Nigeria's diverse Muslim population offers an ideal setting to explore how Maliki jurisprudence impacts Salat practice and religious identity. This study examines the unique interpretations and rulings of the Maliki school regarding Salat, focusing on prayer methodology such as mode of Iqᾱmah, Adhᾱn, recitations, Al-Qunũt, Qabd and Sadl, and evaluates their relevance to Nigerian Muslims. The research employs textual analysis and comparative jurisprudence to uncover doctrinal differences and practical implications of Maliki rulings on Salat. Empirical data from Nigerian Muslim communities shed light on how these differences affect contemporary Salat practices and perceptions. Findings revealed that Maliki jurisprudence remains influential among Nigerian Muslims, providing a foundational framework for religious guidance. Despite divergence, the core principles of Shari’ah and its sources remain intact. Conclusively, the paper emphasisesthe importance of fostering dialogue and understanding among scholars, policymakers, and religious leaders to enhance spiritual experiences and communal cohesion in Nigerian Muslim society.
2024-10-05T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 AbdulWahhab Danladi Shittu, AbdulWaheed Olarewaju Yakub https://al-arfa.my.id/index.php/i/article/view/63 Nationalism and the Ottoman-Arab Dynamic: From Cultural Renaissance to Political Revolt 2024-10-04T02:53:36+00:00 Nasir Hassan Wani nasirwani8516@gmail.com
This paper delves into the intricate relationship between the Ottoman Empire and its Arab Muslim subjects amidst the backdrop of rising nationalist sentiments during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It traces the historical evolution of Arab nationalism, examining its cultural origins and political dimensions, while also dissecting the Ottoman administration's response to nationalist aspirations. Through an analysis of historical documents, scholarly works, and contemporary accounts, the study illuminates how nationalist movements reshaped the political, social, and cultural dynamics within the empire, leading to increased tensions between the central government and Arab nationalists. The paper highlights key events such as the Tanzimat reforms and the Young Turk Revolution, which exacerbated these tensions, culminating in the Arab Revolt of 1916 supported by the British. It also explores the impact of World War I on Ottoman-Arab relations and the subsequent dissolution of the empire, as reflected in treaties like the Treaty of Sèvres and the Treaty of Lausanne, which paved the way for the establishment of modern Arab states under European mandates. Through a comprehensive examination of historical sources and scholarly literature, the paper elucidates the multifaceted nature of nationalism's influence on the Ottoman Empire's relationship with its Arab Muslim subjects, underscoring its profound and enduring significance in shaping the modern Middle East.
2024-10-06T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Nasir Hassan Wani https://al-arfa.my.id/index.php/i/article/view/86 The Role of Sports in Islamic Festivals and Its Relevance to Pluralistic Society: An Analysis from the Prophet Muhammed’s Tradition 2024-10-04T02:57:14+00:00 Mohammed Ghous Mohammed Insaf sheikh.insaf86@gmail.com Mohamed Ashath msmaasath@gmail.com
The celebration of Islamic festivals, primarily Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, traditionally encompasses spiritual practices and communal activities, including sports that foster unity among Muslims and others. However, in contemporary times, the role of sports within these celebrations has diminished, leading to a disconnect from the holistic nature of these festivities as practised during the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) time. This paper explores the historical significance of sports in Islamic festivals, drawing upon the Prophet's (PBUH) traditions that emphasise physical activities as an integral part of celebratory events. In contrast, other religious traditions, such as the celebration of Buddha's birthday in Sri Lanka, maintain sports as a central feature of their festival celebrations, often involving diverse communities, including Muslims. This paper argues that reintroducing sports into Islamic festival celebrations can serve as a vital platform for intercultural and interfaith exchanges, enhancing mutual understanding in pluralistic societies. By analysing the potential of sports to bridge communities, this study highlights how such integration can contribute to a more inclusive and harmonious social fabric, aligning with the broader goals of interreligious engagement and cooperation.
2024-10-11T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Mohammed Ghous Mohammed Insaf, Mohamed Ashath
